The blue in the distance is hauntingly pretty, it adds intrigue and compliments the earthen tones of the forest floor beautifully. Speaking of the forest floor, I love how dimensional it is, it feels uneven and rough, which contrasts the single blossoming tree starkly. This feels like it has a story to it, something quiet and easy to overlook, but rich. It's great to see more work from you around here Smile

It came very close to being overdone - I had originally planned a scene with fantasy creatures, but my "background" took on so much life I didn't want to hide any of it! I still want to do a couple of creature paintings in the same palette, sort of implying they all belong to the Wood...

    Ooh, that could end up as a neat mini series of sorts! I think you made a good call to leave them out of this one, its a gorgeous piece.
