Woah that's watercolor? What brand do you have? Mine is a crappy brand that doesn't get such dark colors.

What brand do you currently use? I use Prang cake watercolors sometimes or the wet -in the tube sorts. (Forgot what brand I use int he tube) I found the key to rich color is to wet your cakes and let them soak. Or if you're using the tube kind - not to dilute them, of course. That reminds me... *goes off to post her favorite watercolor painting*

My tube kind are good quality but my travel kind has the paints in little pans. My teacher just did a demo showing the difference between good pan quality and bad pan quality. The way you tell is by soaking the brush with like ultramarine and then painting it. the darker it is, the more pigment in the paint pan. my travel one is the van gogh brand, although i can't really complain because i got it for less than $20. i think what i'll do is by the darker colored pans of good quality and just replace those particular paints in my current travel thing. my teacher, John suggested it.
