I really, really like the stark contrast. A lot. A realy lot.
His pants looks kind of strange--I think it might be the reddish-brown color mixed in with the black. Otherwise, this is a really well done piece, with a great use of color.

Lol, I know, the damn pen changed color when it got wet. Go figure!
