Well...at most of the shows I do & in most of the galleries, the masks are bought by people who are just into decorating with them. Or they collect them. SOME shows & galleries (like the one I just got into in New Orleans) do promote them as wearable art.
I design almost all my masks to be wearable. I like people to use them & have fun with them.
Cirque Du Soleil bought one of my designs specifically because I DO make them as wearable art. So I guess it's good to keep that option open.
There aren't too many of us maskmakers out there...we're modern-day anachronisms. Gotta say though, I love what I do for a living.
