Man this is sweet! It's a really off-beat reference, but did you ever play Riven (the sequel to Myst)? In that game there's these dagger things in the ground and this made me think of that game. Really great atmosphere, but what are those cube things?

Inqy Hah, no I never played that. They were going to be buildings if I'd allowed myself to work on them longer. ^^; But I have to finish my homework now, so I have to pretend this is done. x_x
