For all the tribulations you went through to mend it I'd say this turned out really well! Honestly if you never mentioned the flippers falling off I probably wouldn't thought that happened to it; I like the pose you gave'em also.

I'm glad my patches worked well, thank you! I was thinking of how dolphins are on land, so this pose is what came to mind.
