Nice test page, it looks professional!The transition between the close up and the full view is creative, it isn't just non-standard but does it in a way unique to the action, emphasizing his singing.

    Thanks- I like to step outside the normal paneling sometimes for pages with a less rigid reading structure. There's still rules, but we don't always have to have a solid black line between panels Smile The layering is really important when doing this too. Without the layers showing which is in front of the other, this wouldn't work with the whole punching it out towards the reader vibe Smile

      I have a bit of experience with making comic pages myself, but I haven't found a style for it that works for me yet. Most of my problems come from mishandling the backgrounds, but the use of irregular panel shapes/transitions is another thing I want to practice more in the future.

        ... Do you want a critique? I might be able to give you things to try out.

          If you wouldn't mind, I love good critique. I have some pages in the comic section here, some are pretty old but others are somewhat recent, I'll drop a link to make it easy. https://www.paperdemon.com/comics/about/534

          I use a colored approach to pages, it appeals to me more than grey-scale (coloring is my favorite part of art, probably not a coincidence).

            I've sent a PM- I hope it's not too much ^^; I didn't want to do it public cause I wanted it to be self contained, and free to talk casually about it. I hope I come across well ^^;
