Nicknames: The Guardian, Turkeybird

Personality: Nicknamed The Guardian by many, it is unknown what their true name is. They come from very far away, describing a place no one has ever heard of before. Also nicknamed Turkeybird by those at Sanctuary, they are incredibly large for a Harpia, even by Sanctuary's standards (who've seen Stryx of all kinds of shapes and sizes.) Turkeybird cannot speak well, resulting in them resorting to more animalistic noises most of the time.

They weren't able to fly for a time, coming to Sanctuary after being struck by a metal spear lodged into their shoulder from a group of poachers looking to harvest them for their talons and feathers. Where they came from, Stryx were rather endangered, due to such poaching and hunting. Stryx were once very abundant, but once their home was found after being left abandoned for so long, it became a target for these illegal activities. Now they are rare, most either being caught and sold, or fleeing the area.

Note: It is unclear at first whether they are a male or a female, so they usually default to gender-neutral pronouns. They don't mind when male or female pronouns are used however.
