Steps

  1. Using the forms at the bottom of the page, submit each of your training entries for AP counting and to get rolled at the same time
  2. If you have gotten a side quest, please go to the bottom of this page to figure out how to submit to get that rolled once it has been counted through this queue

RULES

Revised 9/5/2022

  • Quests are open to all players, regardless of your stryx's ascension level.
  • Ascension level has no bearing on questing success
  • Quests can be worked on and completed at your leisure.
  • Apply an Elixir of Luck to increase your chances of finding extra/rare items!
  • If your Stryx is blind they must receive Blindness Training before they can participate!
  • Max of 3 stryx per entry

The ethereal lights that haunt Wyvera


It is said that Wisps are the ghosts of the past, sometimes leading the living to their fate, whether good or bad. You have been tasked to find and capture one of these creatures in a jar. But this is no easy task, and it may be that hunting the Wisps could lead you into unpredictable consequences. But if you choose to accept, handsome rewards could await. That is, if you return successfully with a Wisp!

There's a chance of failing the Wisp Quest, but if you fail, you'll receive a small bauble reward a side quest that you can optionally complete for additional rewards.

Requirements


Maximum of three stryxes per a single Art or Literature questing entry.
Wisp quests now can give +4 AP bonus

Art

Fullbody, Colored or Shaded, & Background

Literature

1 stryx - 600 words
2 stryx - 800 words
3 stryx - 1000 words

Each stryx in the story should engage in 5-6 sentences (about 100 words) minimum of active wisp hunting.

:new: Quests do not require a rider anymore! However you may still include a rider or a full-body Group Starter if you want

Corruption

  • Stryx with Contagious Corruption roll activities at a higher tier, for example Alpha rolls as Legendary, ect
    • Ascended stryx can choose between two roll results
    • Corrupted stryx also serve as higher-level companions
  • There is a 10% chance for a Corrupted stryx to take 10 hitpoints of damage from any activity
  • Contagion has a chance to spread to a non-corrupted stryx while performing any activity with a Corrupted stryx; however, leasing permission must be given from the Corrupted stryx's owner in order for it to be rolled. This can be avoided by equipping a stryx with an Immunity Cuff. Corrupted stryx equipped with an Immunity Cuff cannot pass on Corruption

Quest Prompt


Depict your Stryx and Rider seeking/following/attempting to capture a Wisp. Wisps are little blue spirits that look like flames, and sometimes resemble the shape of a small person or animal if you look closely. They are most commonly found in Forests and Mountain regions.

If you fail to catch a wisp you will encounter a side quest! These quests have a choice to make. Some choices are risky and have a high chance of resulting in a temporary injury to your stryx that will leave you unable to quest for a week but they offer the chance at better chances for rare rewards like a baby stryx or tokens!

If you have collected a set of all six wisps, whether through your own efforts, or through trade with other players, you may exchange them at the Treasury for your choice of 10,000 Baubles or 2 Gold Tokens and the prestigious Wisp Collection trophy. The Tokens or Baubles will be deposited in your Vault, and the Wisp Collection trophy to your Inventory. You may then apply the trophy to any stryx you own via Import Changes.

The Tack Maker's Chores

“That blasted boy! He should’ve been back an hour ago! The little rat, I’ll… oh! You there! Yes, you, come here! There’s a reward in it for you, if you’ll help me. My apprentice, Jorda, left on a chore to fetch me a few things, but the cursed runt has probably run off with the Baubles I gave him to do who-knows-what! Help an old woman get the day’s chores done?”
 
Choose one or even all chores, and follow their storylines for a chance to unlock side quests you can complete to find more items! You have a higher chance of encountering a side quest while doing chores with a luck elixir.

CHORE 1: SEEKING JORDA


As you travel through the Daiuses city asking where the boy went, the townspeople seem to be quite familiar with the young mischief-maker. One man reports that he saw him run off past the city gates with a brand new fishing pole.

 

Prompt

To embark on this quest, draw or write about your Stryx and Rider/Starter searching along the edge of the river, or on the shore of the nearest lake.
 

Chance of Side Quest

This chore has the chance of rolling the Drowning Boy side quest
Completing the side quest has a chance to drop Baubles, a Copper Token or a Tack Maker's Manual.


CHORE 2: DELIVERY!


You must deliver a order list from the Tack Maker to her friend across the Diauses city, the Furrier, for a stack of softened leather, and bring the fulfilled order back with you, so that the Tack Maker will have enough inventory to fulfill her customers’ orders for the day.

To embark on this quest, draw or write about your Stryx and Rider/Starter meeting with the Furrier, and/or carrying the large package through the city streets, and/or delivering it back to the Tack Maker.
 

Chance of Side Quest

This chore has the chance of rolling the Stop Thief! side quest
Completing the side quest has a chance to drop Baubles, a Wood Token, a Copper Token, or a Tack Maker's Manual.


CHORE 3: FETCH ME A FEATHER


The Tack Maker needs decorative feathers for a special order she must finish today! She instructs you to go out into the public gardens of the city of Sol and pluck some peacock feathers for her. That is, if you’re able to catch them!

Prompt

To embark on this quest, draw or write about your Stryx and Rider chasing peacocks through the Diauses’ gardens, trying to catch one for its feathers.
 

Chance of Side Quest

This chore has the chance of rolling the Harpy Wrangling side quest
Completing the side quest has a chance to drop Baubles, a Wood Token, a Royal Peaharpy or Pied Royal Peaharpy.

We understand that some of you still have unrolled or partially rolled quests on dA that are difficult or not possible (when created for you by another player) to port over to PaperDemon. Consequently, you may request older quests to be rolled on the "Off-Site Activity" thread.

Side Quest Entry Prompts

If your Initial Quest entry rolls a Side Quest, you'll need to make an additional entry based on the prompt and reply to the roll comment to complete the Side Quest.
While Initial Quest entries do not receive an AP bonus, Side Quest entries receive a +2 AP bonus to questing stryx.

Side Quest Entry Requirements

Art for Side Quest entries must be fullbody, colored or shaded with background.
Literature must be 600 words.
Both art and lit should include the rider/starter from the Initial Quest.

Side Quest Completion Prompts

After completing a Side Quest, you have the option to draw an additional image depicting the result of your Quest.
This is optional, though Quest Result images/stories will also receive +4 AP to questing stryx.

Side Quest Result Requirements

  Art for Quest Result pieces must be fullbody, colored or shaded, BG optional.
Literature must be 400 words.
Both art and lit should include the rider/starter from the Initial Quest.

Side Quest Roll Request


After you have completed your side quest image/lit and posted it, be sure to request it rolled on the appropriate thread.
This is to ensure the quest doesn't get lost or forgotten in an admin's inbox.
