In the dark hours of the first night of the Summer's Eve Ball, a hunter stalks the halls. Guests and guards alike have turned up collapsed in corners and storage rooms, bite marks in their necks. Drained of blood. Who is next? Is there a pattern to the attacks?

The ball grinds to a halt. The chase is on to identify and stop the vampiric threat. Will you work together with your fellow partygoers-- or accuse them of being the monster?

Ready, Set, Fight!

You may make one attack per 24 hours. In addition to your one attack, you may partner with another player to Duocast. See the Battle Guide for details.

For art based attacks…

  • Choose one of the prompts below and upload your artwork to PaperDemon.com with the tag PDARPGBossBattle and PDARPGVogueVampire. Copy and paste the prompt you chose into the description of the artwork.

  • The artwork must fulfill the prompt and be at minimum a black and white sketch that includes about half of your character’s body.

  • Submit your attack to the battle forum post.

For writing based attacks…

  • Choose one of the prompts below and upload your writing work to PaperDemon.com. Tag it with PDARPGBossBattle and PDARPGVogueVampire and copy/paste the prompt you chose into the description of the piece.

  • Make sure to copy/paste your writing piece in its entirety into the chapter body beneath the prompt you chose.

  • The writing piece must be a minimum of 150 words.

  • Submit your attack to the battle forum post.

Prompts

You’ve read your mission brief and you’re ready to join the fray! Pick one of the prompts below to complete an art or writing work for each attack you make. If you’ve already gone through all of the prompts, feel free to join our Discord and drop new prompt ideas into the #Suggestion-Box for review.

Make sure to copy and paste the prompt and its number into the description of the works you upload for battle!

  1. Draw or write about your character fighting the boss!

  2. Draw or write about your character trying to stop the boss without fighting it. Do they distract the vampire by asking them to dance? Do they offer the vampire ethically sourced meals?

  3. Draw or write about your character searching the halls and investigating other guests to try to identify the Vogue Vampire.

  4. Draw or write about your character talking to the Vogue Vampire. Do they encounter them in the midst of an attack and talk them down? Do they go to speak with them after they’re captured? Why have they crashed the ball? What is their story?

  5. While the Vogue Vampire threatens to overshadow the main event, a handful of determined adventurers refuse to let the ball fall flat. Draw or write about your character trying to maintain the spirit of the ball in the face of danger.

  6. Draw or write about your character making an even bigger mess at the ball than the Vogue Vampire.

  7. Was the ball a little too stuffy for your character? Are they furious that their debut was interrupted? Draw or write about your character’s feelings about the boss’s arrival at the ball.

  8. Draw or write your character in a formal fit that you’ve never had them wear before. How do they feel about fancy clothing?

  9. Find a painting made at least two hundred years ago and do your best to mimic it with your character.

  10. Find a story or poem that’s written in a distinctive style. Try to mimic that style while featuring your character.

  11. Draw or write about your character getting bitten and becoming a vampire.

Rewards

For each character you enter into battle with, you will earn…

  • 50 XP per attack or hosted Duocast

  • 40 Gold per attack or hosted Duocast

  • 10 Trokens per attack or hosted Duocast

  • 5 - 7 AP per attack or hosted Duocast. Your duocast partner also earns AP if they are depicted in the artwork/writing.

    • 5 AP for sketches and written works

    • 7 AP for full color art

(The person who posts the duocast is considered the host of the Duocast)
