Fall of Gabriel

Posted May 24, 2005, 1:10:09 AM
I'm not realy into angels and when someone asked me to draw an angel I came up with this.

This is the outcome of a battle between the arch-angel Gabriel, and the arch-devil Ma'ael.

Shame on me for not commenting on this one sooner. Very nice.... I'm a sucker for this combination....wings, horns and that sculptural body. *drool* Your pencil work is spot on as usual. Great composition and detail! This is serious eyecandy for me. ^_^'

Thanks Silverbane, I'm happy you like it and I hope to do more of this kind of composition.

This piece is just as amazing as all your others. someday your going to have to fail on one of your works, if for no other reason then atleast to give other artists a chance to shine. your too good man. The detail, characters, armor, mood Etc... all phenomenal. Your work breaths life Lloyd, keep it out in the air and it'll live on and on. some day these will be classics.

Thanks Zacula, I was kinda hoping you'd dig this one. I spent the majority of the time erasing on this one as I kept running into mistake after mistake. But in the end i'm quite pleased with it.

This is quite a drawing. The arch-devil looks really cool. Is that a piercing on his genitals? Ouch! Anyways, excellent job on the shading, you also a great pose on Gabriel. Poor Gabriel. Good job.
    • Jun 29, 2005
Thank you, I remember thinking i'll never get the shading right on this one.

*grin* Everywhere you go, Lloyd, people gather in crowds around you. Some days I envy your popularity, and then I go back, look at a piece, and remember exactly why. You are the most deserving! I do so love this piece. The rippling muscles of the demon are particularly spectacular.

Thank you so very much Robin! Careful though you might give me a big head complex, LOL.
      • Jun 8, 2005
Yeah right, Lloyd. You'd feel too guilty insulting someone or forgetting to reply to them.
        • Jun 8, 2005
I didn't realize how well you know me until now. Your right though, I do have a strong conscience and it kills me when I think i'm thought of poorly.
          • Jun 8, 2005
*gives you a creepy look* I am the all-knowing... I know everything about you. LOL! But no, you've had enough of that lately.... In fact, I think you've had enough of that for the rest of your life.

I like your new avatar by the way.

Dennis, you have a growing base of followers behind you, and i'm one of them (if you don't mind that is)!

I agree with BogusRed, that it reminds of Luis Royo's work.

Worship This is just one Superb piece of art! Worship
    • Jun 8, 2005
Thank you! I've been getting that a lot lately and although I am extremely flattered I don't think I could ever hold a candle to Royo.
      • Jun 8, 2005
And why's that? Sick It's as good as Royo's art in my opinion, or atleast really close to it!

Just keep up with the good work!

I do not have words to describe your drawings, they are all so splendid, I remain about it without voice. Continuous in this way, you have an incredible talent.

Every time I see one of your pictures, I am utterly awestruck. You have such a good balance in your pictures. You should be the God of Art or something. This picture is beautiful in the way that it shows on-lookers something they normally wouldn't see. It's a treat to view your art, Dennis, and I'm glad I get to.

Thank you Kristina, for the great comment. I only seem to come up with original ideas though when it's a commision piece like this one. In actuality it's my commision that comes up with the idea.
      • May 24, 2005
I guess people can really get alot out of your work. For me . I look at one of your pieces and I can feel the struggle you must have went through to create it. That's what I love about looking at fanart or any other type of art. You can really tell when someone puts their heart and soul into their work. You should be very proud that your work can inspire that type of reaction from someone. I have to ask, would it be okay if I E-Mailed this picture to a friend of mine? She would fall in love with it.
        • May 24, 2005
I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem just as long as it's not published or reproduced for public display. The company which commisioned me to draw it are sticklers when it comes to that kind of thing.
          • May 24, 2005
She would never do that. She's also a stickler for that sort of thing. She loves art of all kinds as well. But, I've been putting your name out there inviting other people to visit this site to see your work. And, who knows, maybe we'll get some more members that way.
            • May 24, 2005
Thank you so much Katerina, I don't know what to say.
              • May 25, 2005
You're most welcome, sir. I have easily become one of your fans. And, you don't have to say anything... just keep creating. I look forward to your next master piece.

I think this is your best piece yet Thumbs Up His penis is a bit large though. Embarrassed This reminds me of Luis Royo's work. Are you influenced by him at all?
    • May 23, 2005
Hello there and thank you for commenting. As for my influence on this piece? I do own Royo's Malefic book and i'm a big fan but to even mention his name when looking at my drawings is a great compliment indeed. He has influenced me but his level of work is just mounds above anything I do.
