    Welcome to the Island Gardens!

    Tulip the Newt is here today. That means it's time for Bug Catching!

    Here's how Bug Catching works:

    Step 1. Purchase a Bug Net from Chipper's Shoppe.

    Step 2. Draw an art piece of your character catching some bugs. It must be FULL BODY WITH A BACKGROUND.

    Step 3. Comment on this post with the image you have made.

    The results will then be randomly generated from a list of seasonal bugs available for capture.

    You enter a tent near the coast. The tent is decently full of items. In the center of the tent is a small counter with a squirel sitting behind it. "Why hello there! Name's Chipper! Thanks for stopping by my shop! Take a look around! I'll be adding more things soon."

    Welcome to the offical page for Horizons, an Animal Crossing inspired ARPG. This page will cover all basic requirements for joining and stuff that can be done after joining!

    OVERVIEW:

    Horizons is an Art Roleplaying Game inspired by the Animal Crossing series in which you can create a human or animal character and create art and literature for Shells used to purchase items, interact with other people's characters, enjoy RNG based Fishing, Bug Catching, Gardening, and Exploration, and more!

    GENERAL RULES:

    We'd like to keep this ARPG at a PG to PG-13 level. No nudity, graphic violence, gore, strong language, and very suggestive adult themes are allowed in this group.

    Unacceptable behavior is ONLY acceptable when in character. If you are caught being rude, creepy, or in any other way unacceptable to anyone, you will receive a strike. And like a good baseball game, 3 strikes and you're out.

    CHARACTER CREATION RULES:

    For the most part, you are completely unrestricted with character designs. You can give your character any color, shape, personality, or background you want!

    However, there are tfour major rules for character design in Horizons:

     1.  ALL ISLANDERS IN HORIZONS MUST STAND UPRIGHT. This means they must stand on two legs unless they are a species with multiple legs, for example, a spider. However, they must not walk on all of their limbs. Snakes and similar creatures may either be given limbs or not, either is valid. The only time an islander may be on four legs is if they are a baby who has not yet learned to walk...which is not recommended for a first character.

     2. AN ISLANDER MAY ONLY START WITH THREE ARTICLES OF CLOTHING. While your character doesn't have to wear all three articles at once, it is recommended that at least one article be present in an islander's app. Especially if they are human.

     3. CHARACTERS MUST STICK TO THEIR TYPE. There are currently two known types of islanders in the world of Horizons:

    STANDARD ISLANDERS are your average Joes in this world. This category consists of real life creatures that have been proven to exist in our world with nothing else all too special about them. This category includes things like Humans, Dogs, Dinosaurs, and many other non-magical creatures.

     FABLED ISLANDERS fall into one of two categories. Some are fantasy creatures which do not exist in our world such as Elves, Gnomes, Fairies, etc. The other sort of Fabled Islanders are creatures with Magic, even if that species is otherwise Standard.

    These are currently the only options for character creation. Since there is currently only one character allowed per user, you are currently allowed to start with whatever Islander type.

    4. You must fill in this template in the description:
    Name:
    Gender:
    Type: (1-2 of Normal, Snooty, Uchi, Peppy, Smug, Lazy, Jock, or Cranky. Unlike Animal Crossing, gender doesn't matter, you can have a female Jock.)

    Personality:

    HP: (Start with 2 for Standard, 3 for Fabled)
    Attack: (Start with 2 for Standard, 3 for Fabled)
    Defense: (Start with 2 for Standard, 3 for Fabled)

    Magic: (Only for Fabled Islanders. Start with 3)

    History:

    SHELL GUIDE

    Shells are the main currency for the islanders. There are a few ways to obtain shells, such as selling items at the shops, but the main method is by creating art and literature related to the island. There is a particular way Shells are counted, as seen here:

    Halfbody = 50 Shells

    Fullbody = 100 Shells

    Sketch = 50 Shells

    Lined = 100 Shells

    Colored = 100 Shells

    Shaded = 150 Shells

    Basic Background = 100 Shells

    Complex Background = 200 Shells

    NPC or Other Person's Character = 100 Shells

    1 word for Literature = 1 Shell

    If you reach 1000 words, you will receive a 1000 Shell bonus on top of the 1 Shell per word.

    You are not allowed to receive Shells for any Literature under 150 Words.

    Activity Bonus(art for Fishing, Bug Catching, or Gardening) = 50 Bells

    Shell Farming is not allowed. Any extremely low effort work will not be accepted.

    ACTIVITIES

    Fishing, Bug Catching, and Gardening are based entirely on RNG for what you receive for each activity.

    Exploration, however, is additionally influenced by user choice.
