Hair colour: Naturally dark chocolate brown with white streaks in it since I was 21 … so, kinda like Rogue from The X-Men.
(I’ve changed my hair colour many times, too.)
Eye colour: Amber brown.
(~fun fact: I was born with blue eyes! :3 My first best friend from Wales named Amy told me that made me like a kitten! 🐱
~I also found out this is true for young crows before they mature;
to have blue eyes before they darken.

Sha is pronounced like ‘Cat’ (Chat) in French (as told to me by a native French speaker I worked with), and also a Korean name meaning “Girl” (I only care cos my first imaginary boyfriend, Steven, in MQ is Korean), but is actually short for my birth name Alexandria, and Yuri is the name I chose for myself. 🎀 
My brothers also gave me the nicknames Pris and Nabi. I am also known as Karasu’s Wife and Lady Crow; both nicknames were given to me by other Yu Yu Hakusho fans. =^.^= ♡
My reality is different as I hallucinate fictional characters and then some from major depressive disorder and chronic post traumatic stress disorder. I cope with trauma by having imaginary friends and my own imaginary world I call my Inner Wonderland, aka Crowland. 💣🦄🐛🍄🐰☕🎩

My name is Alexandria “Sha” Pris Yuri Angel (née Akridge, pronounced AY-krij; from Old Norse eik ‘oak’ + hryggr ‘ridge’), with my preferred nicknames being Sha (pronounced like the French word “chat” meaning “cat”), which is short for Alexandria (much like how Sasha is short for Alexander and Alexandra in Russia), and Yuri (or Sha Yuri together) – shared with several of my homemade characters; most notably, Sha Pris Yuri Amaranth (aka Shadowmare), Jung Sha-Mina (aka Kagemitsu), and Sha Yuri Karasu (née Hargreaves, my avatar in Yu Yu Hakusho who is literally just real-life me with some dream elements).

 

I am an aspiring graphic novel/webcomic artist and creative writer, co-writing Gothic novels with my brothers, Micky and Robbie, and my best friend, Matty, as part of our art group, Tealight Stories, with our first tale, MQ’s prototype going as far back as 1998!

 

My brothers affectionately call me Nabi which is a Korean girl’s name meaning “Butterfly”, as well as what Koreans endearingly refer to their kittycats (I learnt of this detail from researching Korean names while writing my Soul Calibur fanfics turned original series, as Sha-Mina is French-Korean) … My Bros also call me Nabs for short, and refer to anything akin to my whimsical and eccentric behaviour as “Nabsy” (and change everything from names to song lyrics to include “Nabi” in it, ROFL! 😹 ie. “Nabimandias” after my love for my unofficial twin/boyfriend Ozymandias, aka Adrian Alexander Veidt, from Watchmen, whose name is eerily similar to my fictional twin brother in different drafts of our webcomic, MQ, named Alexander Adrian Amaranth. And I love Bubastis! Cos “Nabi is nabi, and all nabi are one, but there is no one nabi.” Mew~ =^w^= ♡)

 

When I was 18 and we first rented Blade Runner, my brothers nicknamed me Pris after the whimsical, childlike yet dangerous Basic Pleasure Model replicant portrayed by the unique Daryl Hannah (both the misfit character and environmentalist actress are my kindred spirits). Blade Runner is also my most personal favourite movie of all time as I related to Pris and the Replicants, with Blade Runner helping me and my brothers through a hard time in my late teens (followed by The Crow with Brandon Lee, as it is a significantly personal movie for me and my SO, Karasu, for having paralleled events going on in my imaginary world and depressive psychosis at the time I first watched it, so needless to say, Karasu is my Eric, my Avenging Angel, and I am, and will always be, his little wifey, Shelly♡). I also go by Yuri, as mentioned before, after Dr. Kiriko’s sister from Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka, as well as Yuri Plisetsky (who is my main cosplay) and Yuri Katsuki from Yuri on Ice. Pris and the Yuris are my kindred spirits! =^w^= ♡

 

Silly fun coincidence: My MQ webcomic avatar Sha Pris Yuri Amaranth’s vampyre husband in different drafts, Lord Leopold Florel, is quite akin to Original vampyre Elijah Mikaelson from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, portrayed by Daniel Gilles who appears in an episode of Masters of Horror as a troubled gentleman working in Japan who is having an affair with a Japanese woman also named Yuri – seems like kismet! :3 ♡

In an interview just prior to his death on the set of The Crow, Brandon Lee quoted a passage from Paul Bowles' book The Sheltering Sky which he had chosen for his wedding invitations; it is now inscribed on his tombstone dedicated to Brandon and his fiancée Eliza Hutton:

 

"Because we don't know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. And yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? In November 2019, The Crow (1994) director Alex Proyas said in an interview on a podcast of a reboot:

 

"I personally tried to squash it every time I hear of one, not that I believe I've been able to. I think extenuating circumstances have stopped it from being made because if Hollywood wants to make something that they don't listen to schmucks like me who bring noble and moralistic issues. My point is that Brandon Lee made that movie what it is. He made that movie, he made that character. That character was not taken from a comic book, that was Brandon. And Brandon Lee died making that movie, he paid the worst price anyone could ever pay making a movie and it's his legacy. The guy would have been a huge star after that movie. He wasn't able to ever do that. That's his final testimony to his talent and that's why I finished the movie. I finished it for Brandon. After being devastated about what happened we shut down the production and I went back to Australia. Months later I went back and watched the movie and his family all the other actors, and everyone involved, said 'You've got to finish this movie because Brandon is so great in it' and he was. I was able to watch it and see how great he was and I thought then the movie deserves to be completed because it's his legacy. So that's what the movie is, it's not just a movie that can be remade. It's one man's legacy. And it should be treated with that level of respect."

Fun fact: The PaperDemon Art Role Playing Game item Elemensha, which is an elemental crystal, was named after me during my time there as a volunteer and staff member. I also came up with the character concept for the Valentine Fae boss, inspired by the Gancanagh of Irish folklore which I believed I was haunted by in my youth.

I am also the muse and inspiration behind Pris in Mal Meets The Rebel by my surrogate Big Sis, Jennifer, who is first introduced in Chapter 56: Roxanne and the Rebels: “Then there was this tiny petite girl that I swore was the same height as me with long black hair that had a blue tint to it that was dressed in a black and white lolita dress who appeared kind of shy as she waved and said her name was Pris.”

Jennifer said Pris was inspired by me and named after me, while also being a lot like Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice {also my kindred spirit}.

I used to dye my long hair black like my role model, Amy Lee the frontwoman of Evanescence, in my late teens and early twenties, and then when Amy went red, I went red for a while before going back to black again, hehe! :3

{I also went by Pris in online art communities then.}

I’ve actually had a lot of hair colours over the years … me and my brothers all have. We like to express ourselves creatively, through our appearance and fashion, alongside our art and stories and such. ♡
