    --a random depressing thought that I've been readily sharing with the rest of the world lately.

    How many of you have seen The Princess and the Frog? Anyone? Well, I chanced by the wiki page, and they had this to say about it... "The Frog Princess, is an American fairy tale, Broadway-style musical set in the French Quarter of New Orleans at the height of the Roaring Twenties."

    You do realize what happens next, right?
    The Great Depression.

    I'm pretty sure this realization and passing it around makes me a bad person XD

    The rats have landed.

    As of 11:00AM this morning, Eastern-Standard time, I became a mommy (or unwitting cohort) or two adorable little boy rats.

    The first is a white dumbo-eared rat, a bit on the effin huge size (to me at least). He's playful and sweet and a little pushy--VERY explorative. The guy's already run laps around my room, and after a pick-me-up, got to climb all over my bed (and subsequently Susan as well).

    The second is hairless and a bit smaller than the first. He's a tiny bit timid, but still very, very sweet. He tuckered himself out on the way over, so he's done a lot of napping, but when he's awake, he pokes around a bit too.

    Both have discovered their food bowl and water bottle and have taken to them well. Also, the nappy hairless seems to be very happy with his plastic igloo, though the dumbo's probably a little cross that he can't overturn the food dish(bolted to the cage wall) or the igloo(not enough space).

    Their cage is a little small at the moment, but I'm saving up for a larger multilevel so they can climb. Bothhhh are climbers and have done all they can to clamor over anything put near or underfoot.

    But as I said, they're both super sweet (already eating out of my hand and nibbling gently on my fingers(no nasty biting). And with their styles(white and fluffy versus hairless) and temperaments (pushy versus chill), it isn't hard to guess what I wound up naming the little bastards;

    Lenny and Mick.

    God, I'm a geek.
    Pictures forthcoming.
