Character Event: Elemental Festival -Farming

Chapter 7: Elemental Festival -Farming

William had the meat he needed to make his burritos; now, he just needed to gather the vegetables and other required ingredients. Unfortunately, no one quite had what he needed to make them. Fortunately, however, he was on Castimeria, where plants grew at an accelerated rate. All the folf had to do was find a spot to till the soil and plant the seeds. Near where the festival occurred was an ideal location with fertile soil and easy access to water. William obtained tools and seeds after bartering with a nearby farmer. With everything he needed, William set out to start his little farm.

With a hoe, the folf carved out several plots of land on an isolated island between rivers. It was hard work, and William quickly worked up a sweat as the sun beat down on him. Shoulders and back now sore, the sweaty folf planted his seeds in the magically fertile soil.

William carefully selected each seed and planted it in rows, separating each plot by what the folf had buried there. Willam didn’t know much about how to farm crops, but he knew the basics, which should be more than enough for this task.

Once he planted all the seeds, William began to whistle a long series of notes from the Winter Song. As the notes reached their apex, the folf threw his talisman dagger into the air. As the seax blade flew into the air, an up burst of air followed it carrying water from the rivers. William caught his witch knife as it fell back to the ground. Water rained from the sky to water each plot of crops. The rainfall also soaked William, which helped cool him down quite a bit. Within moments seedlings started to sprout from the magical soil as the water soaked into the ground. Minutes later, the crops were fully mature and ripe for the picking. Bell peppers hung heavy on their stalks alongside multitudes of bean pods while plump onions poked out from under the ground. Wheat plants nearly reached William’s chest next to a small makeshift pond full of rice ready for the harvest. It took longer to harvest everything than it did to plant and water it. With baskets full of crops, William was almost ready to start making hundreds of burritos for all the hungry adventurers stranded on this planet. He knew everyone was hungry, but would they be hungry for his cooking?
