Elwing

Elwing killed herself and Ulmo, lord of the water, brought her back as a swan. (She could talk to birds... hence the feathers on her dress)

The wings are a fun touch, and I like the wavy hairstyle - seems to work well for a character associated with the water. ^_^
(I wasn't totally clear on whether she died before being turned, or if she was transformed on the way down - less a straight-up suicide attempt and more a "frantic getaway by any means up to and including death from family's enemies - who are chasing me on a cliff -along with the the treasure they wanted back," yeah?)

In my head she had a resemblance to a Naiad or something.. hence the wavy hair. (And now you're wondering: "wait, do all the naiads have wavy hair?" Well, yes, no straightener and humid climate of course! hahaha)

My friend, your knowledge of Arda is impressive! Mine is rusty and foggy.. I take your word for itπŸ˜‰

Heh, you make a credible argument on the Naiad-hair. ^_^ (I guess depending on the Naiad, floofy/frizzy could also be an option, though. Wink)

Well... it's been awhile since I've read any of the sources besides The Trilogy, but I was passionately in love with every scrap of Tolkienverse I could get my hands on in my early teens, and I've also read a lot of fanfiction more recently. :p Also, the image of a woman leaping off a cliff with a jewel in her hands and changing shape on the way down is a powerful one, sticks in my head a bit.
