Christmas has come one day early! (Or maybe this is right on time depending on where you are in the world.)
I am happy to announce that at PaperDemon we finally have a ranking system.
Why? The community discussed adding this feature in the past as a way to encourage members to be more active. Over the last few years, people have been signing up here but not interacting with each other much. Users aren't getting many comments on their submissions. I'm hoping introducing the ranking system will be a good start to help address this problem by incentivizing us all to be more active.
How does it work? Whenever you post a message in the forums or a comment on a submission (art, writing, comics) you'll get a point. As you accrue points, your rank increases. When you encounter other members across PaperDemon, you can hover over their name to see their total points and their rank. Eventually your rank can get you account perks like a premium membership, username colors, your art/writing/comics being promoted, etc.
The feature is pretty basic at the moment but I'll be making improvements to it as time goes on. If you don't see your rank and points in the upper right, try logging out then back in again. Special thanks to all the members who contributed ideas for the ranks. I'm sure we'll add more. Feel free to leave a comment to suggest a new rank be added.
What else are we doing to increase activity? I have plans to start doing Theme Week again to encourage more community activity. If you have any suggestions, please let us know in the forums.
