Another year has passed, Miriam-chan has been going through quite a lot mentally, to the point where no longer she could even roll with the life that was only being a high school student for the last time. However... During the midsummer of that year, because of the recurring dreams she's been having of spending much time with a young Japanese man, whom had feelings for her also. Surely they've been a great comfort at first, but eventually those particular dreams had reignited the heart and soul of the young lady to the degree, where a new adventure can most certainly happen.

Chapter 2, Departure, Departure! ~The 2nd Movement~

House of the Holliman Family – 8:05 AM

Miriam still was inside of her bedroom, dressed in a long sleeved dandelion crew neck nightgown that went right down to her knees, sitting up in the canary yellow covers of the full sized bed, stretching out both of her arms while yawning quite a bit, since she had just woken up from a dream.

A dream that'll surely be worth adding into the journal of hers, which contained like a boat load of dreams.

Placing both arms of hers back onto the canary yellow covers of the full sized bed and finished with yawning also, the dark brown haired young lady had opened her eyes and started smelling buttermilk waffles that were in the process of being made inside of the kitchen.

Smelling that sort of thing and then, feeling and hearing her stomach growling loudly.

'thank goodness for booking a early afternoon flight to Japan' Miriam said to herself.

'before packing up' Miriam said to herself.

'gonna need to wash up and fuel up' Miriam said to herself.

Getting out of the full sized bed rather quickly, the dark brown haired young lady ran towards the front door of her bedroom, grabbed and turned the door knob, then headed out from there.

Closing the door behind her and smelling still those buttermilk waffles in the process of being made inside the kitchen located downstairs in the medium sized house, she had walked straight towards the bathroom, closed the door from behind and then proceeded right away with doing the usual routine for the morning time.

15 minutes later

With the usual routine for the morning time very much accomplished, dressed only in a rabbit themed bath robe and shoulder length dark brown of hers wrapped into a hair bun.

Miriam had departed from the bathroom and was about to go back into her bedroom, to change from the rabbit themed bath robe and possibly into the school uniform that she'd usually wear for whenever going to Strawberry Fields High School, with or without her friends.

But...

Right when she was about to do that sort of thing.

'breakfast is ready, Miriam-chan!' Maureen shouted to Miriam.

'really!' Miriam shouted back to Maureen.

'mmm-hmmm!' Maureen shouted back to Miriam.

'it's all ready!' Maureen shouted back to Miriam.

'awesome!' Miriam shouted back to Maureen.

'knowing that, time to get fueling up and then' Miriam said to herself.

'what shall be worn, for the great voyage to the land of the rising sun?' Miriam said to herself.

'mmmmm, gotta think about it' Miriam said to herself.

'well after gobbling up those buttermilk waffles' Miriam said to herself.

'one of my favorite things to eat up for breakfast or even snack time' Miriam said to herself.

'mmm-hmmm!' Miriam said to herself with a giggle.

10 minutes later

With most of the buttermilk waffles gobbled up, dressed still in the rabbit themed bath robe, the dark brown haired young lady was sitting back comfortably in one of the dining chairs located in the dining room, she was pretty stuffed to the degree where getting up and moving about probably wouldn't be happening for a little bit.

For now, while the some of the food currently was in the process with being digested, sitting back comfortably in one of the dining chairs, the dark brown haired young lady had yawned just a little bit, and then while staring directly at the empty medium sized plate that was on the dining table, she began thinking about what to wear for the trip that was heading to Japan.

Homeland of the one and only Mr. Sunshine.

'well...' Miriam said to herself.

'before even thinking about outfits' Miriam said to herself.

'what's the weather like in Japan?' Miriam said to herself.

'what's the weather like over there?' Miriam said to herself.

'well...' Miriam said to herself.

'should've asked that question to Mr. Sunshine' Miriam said to herself.

'should've definitely asked that question' Miriam said to herself.

'oh well' Miriam said to herself.

'actually...' Miriam said to herself.

'could ask my mother that sort of question' Miriam said to herself

'she's from the country so' Miriam said to herself.

'yeah, can definitely ask that question' Miriam said to herself.

'definitely can ask that question' Miriam said to herself.

'after chilling for just a little longer in the chair' Miriam said to herself.

10 minutes later

With much of the buttermilk waffles digested, the dark brown haired young lady departed from the dining room, entered the kitchen with a medium sized plate being held with both of her hands and noticed her mother still was inside of there, in the process with cleaning dishes that were in the kitchen sink.

Noticing that.

The dark brown haired young lady remained still and then, decided with asking the question that should've been for her boyfriend in the dream world, but instead was going to be for her mother.

Maureen Holliman.

Also known as Mariko Holliman.

'say mother, what's the weather like in Japan?' Miriam asked Maureen with a curious tone in her voice.

'what's the weather like over there, you ask?' Maureen answered Miriam while cleaning now the larger dishes in the kitchen sink.

'mmm-hmmm' Miriam said to Maureen with a nod.

'well...' Maureen said to Miriam as she started thinking for a moment.

Once a few minutes quickly had passed.

'it'll be best you look that up' Maureen said to Miriam.

'the information given from me to you' Maureen said to Miriam.

'probably would be inaccurate' Maureen said to Miriam.

'you think so?' Miriam said to Maureen.

'certainly believe so' Maureen said to Miriam.

'well then' Miriam said to Maureen.

'that's a bummer' Miriam said to Maureen.

'a real bummer' Miriam said to Maureen.

'but well, I will look up the weather for Japan' Miriam said to Maureen.

'thank you for that recommendation' Miriam said to Maureen.

'it's much appreciated' Miriam said to Maureen.

'not a problem' Maureen said to Miriam.

'may I ask?' Maureen said to Miriam.

'is there a particular reason?' Maureen said to Miriam.

'to why you want to know about the weather in Japan?' Maureen said to Miriam.

'is there a particular reason?' Maureen said to Miriam.

'just wanna know really' Miriam quickly said to Maureen.

'nothing else' Miriam quickly said to Maureen.

'nothing else?' Maureen said to Miriam.

'mmmm-hmmmm!' Miriam quickly said to Maureen.

'I'll take your word, despite the skepticism already I have' Maureen said to Miriam.

'good, good!' Miriam quickly said to Maureen.

'and on that note, gotta go!' Miriam quickly said to Maureen as she departed quickly from the kitchen, still holding onto the medium size plate with both of her hands.

Doing that sort of thing, caused the dark brown haired middle aged woman to begin thinking about what her daughter was up to exactly.

What was she up to exactly?

Conclusion of the second part.

To be continued!

Author's Notes #2

  • The birth name of Miriam-chan's mother is a reference to Mariko Tone.

  • She's one of my favorite singers and the introduction to J-pop, mostly the older stuff, which admittedly I do like a whole lot.

  • Reason for Miriam-chan's mother going by the name of Maureen, not only her birth name would be difficult to pronounce, but to better fit in with being a citizen of Strawberry Fields.

  • She chose to go for having a name that was not only easier to pronounce, but more Western sounding also.

  • Unlike in the first and second versions of this series, Mariko/Maureen does actually make an appearance.
