Owl Lurve

This is a self portrait I made using my wonderful Reeves acrylic paints (Love 'em to death but the white is always running low!!!! Grrrrrr....). I really wanted to have a picture of me holding an owl, but unfortunately I've yet to visit enough bird-of-prey shows or zoos wear I could volunteer to let one on my arm.
Solution: use visuals and mush em together! You know, at first I thought barn owls looked kind of ugly with their weird-looking triangle faces, but then I started to really like them....perhaps it's because after watching the "Mother Earth" music video by Within Temptation I kind of had urges to draw them in my sketchbook.....my lips looks weird. It seems like the angle that my head was tilted at is a little off...oh well.
