Shingen's latent element is fire.
His clan's techniques (Furinkazan) draw upon the elements of fire, wind, forest and mountain. Fire for attack power, wind for speed, forest for stealth and mountain for defense. (I guess in PD latent element terms, that would be fire, sky, and earth and I'm not really sure what forest should be). The latent element makes certain techniques more effective, and typically, clan members train in the direction their latent element takes them in, though it doesn't mean they can't use the other techniques; they're just not as good at them. Also, they can't use more than one of them at a time.
As for Shingen, while he can use the fire techniques of Furinkazan, he generally prefers not to use magic based abilities unless he absolutely has to. This fire technique is jigoku no goukaken, a hellfire punch.
I hope I didn't butcher the Japanese too badly; somebody feel free to correct it if there's a more idiomatic way to write it.

He looks as fierce as I'm sure you intended. My Japanese is too rusty to do any kind of correcting here - I like that you included it in the picture, though. I admit, that makes me very happy. (And in the title for the gourd piece as well.)
