A Magician's Flare

Floren's fingers glittered with sparks, painting patterns in the air that seemed to come alive with the flick of wrists. Glittering fire likenesses of dragons and phoenixes floating overhead of child and adult alike. The crowd was a band of traveling merchants and nomads. Easy money in Floren's case. They have likely never seen magic used for such entertainment before, and the few children within the group seemed to light up when the little ashes fell from the sky after each flaming creature faded into nothing. Floren laughed, the sound somewhere between a bark and a chime, pulling their arms into the air with all the flourish of a proper showman and all at once let the little dancing flames burst into glittering fireworks. Excited shrieks erupted from the group of children, and each one of them flew back to their parents as the glowing embers rained down harmlessly. The fae took a bow, lowering their head for a long moment before throwing themselves back up straight and in the same breath outstretching their hands, now containing an empty cloth pouch. "Oh you folk have been just a splendid audience!" They sing-songed, boots gently thudding against the little wooden platform they had taken as a stage to wave the bag out to the group of travelers. "Now, I may encourage you all to show some generosity and help a fellow nomad out on the road-" Floren winked to a particularly well dressed woman, and the two little children who pulled at her dress excitedly. "But! Please I beg you not to feel pressured into doing so, I ask with humble intention." Floren spoke in the same breath as they shook the bag subtly in front of her. They pulled it back when the satisfying sound of coins clinking together was heard, and their bag grew three copper heavier. "My biggest thank yous." Floren smiled.
