Sleeping in the car

Posted Oct 12, 2006, 12:47:28 AM UTC
I don't do realistic drawings very often so I thought I might change it up a bit. Anywho...I really don't know who this is ^.^;; my friend gave me the picture to draw and she told me it was her crush or whatever lol He's in the back of a car sleeping. But yeah I'm liking how it's coming out and she's liking it too  It's basically done except for that little part in the background. Alot of the shading was lost when I scanned it..meh oh well. I'm hoping to turn it in for a grade in my drawing class too.

Edit: Ok I finished it. It has a BG now.

I agree with Ark, you really should draw realism more often!Big Smile This looks very very good so far. The only thing I have to add is maybe detail his face a bit more, but other than that it looks great to me.Smile Btw, is it the whole drawing? It kinda looks like there's more to it.

Thanks! Grin Yeah I'm gonna start drawing more realism cause I need to make a portfolio to submit into colleges. I've finished it already my teacher just hasn't given it back yet so when i get it back I'll see what i can do about the detail on the face. Yeah this is the whole thing I cut it in half because the photo I got it from only had those parts showing and I didn't want to ruin it by adding things I couldn't see. Anyways thanks again! Glomp

No problem.Big Smile I try to avoid drawing someone when the reference is cut up like that, I can never get it right if I don't know the prportions. So I don't think it's a good idea.No
So, you want to study art in college? Good luck then, I hope you have an impressive portfoilo.Wink

Animation is cool. I've done some 3D and Flash animation in college. I hope you get to do more of that than I have. Anyhow,I'm looking forward to see the finished piece.Smile

I wouldn't realize you didn't do realistic very often by looking at this, I think it looks great although seeing a drawing of someone sleeping is reminding me that I should too Laughing

Woooooowww- you should try realism more often!! ^^ Turned out very cool Wink Tip- if you can, play with the levels of the picture to make your blacks black. You may also be able to resorrect the greys too if you have this in your picture editing program.

Also- don't forget to seal it!!! Hair spray will do ^^ Stops the white from becoming doomy greeeeey

Grin Thanks. I just realized that I should've brought it into photoshop the second I posted it Sweat Drop I'll probably do that when I post the finished version.
I knew hair spray a good sealer. Some told me not to do that cause it'll mess up the pic. I'll definately do that though when I'm done Grin

I wouldn't use it if you're doing it regularly though- when they get old they don't spray evenly. Get a proper sealer from an art store if you're serious cause they don't smell and stuff. Hairspray is a cheep alternative though. I have tones of the stuff at home ^^ It's one you can draw on top of too which is cool.

Realistic pics for me are like once in a blue moon so hair spray will do and its cost friendly ^^

Be carefull. The art stuff is sometimes a similar price. Find out if it is that much more expensive before investing Yes
