Yes, luv, he is Japanese. And I am so glad that you draw him to look that way. I love Asian men and you have him drawn beautifully. I LOVE his eyes. 
And the bad part about when the studios translate the Japanese version into English is that alot of the Japanese text is lost. So the Japanese version is always different. And yes, he is a whole hell of alot meaner in the original Japanese versions. But that's how we like him, no? ^_^ I really hope you will keep drawing him like this because I absolutely love it. And the fact that you didn't use any reference is astounding. You are so friggen talented.
