Yeah it is pretty bad this year for everyone, even at shows. A lot of the fantasy artists are suffering. People just want everything for free and for us to keep painting but I personally can't do that with no income, art supplies are too expensive for that. That and people don't get that a lot of us do it for a living and if we give you something for free or whatever it is out of my pocket. They also think if you are licensed you have a ton of money! It takes a WHILE for that ball to get rolling. It is totally crazy at conventions where that gimmie gimmie gimmie mentality really is, it makes me sad really. Oh and LOL some one wanted me to do a custom pet protrait for 20.00,in oil!! Really no worries about buying stuff your moral support is totally enough. Sorry to hear about your tv. Thanks for listening to my rant.

I totally hear you. It's realy bad. I was at a con once- someone asked if they could have one of my buisness cards- they were there to hand out of corse so I said yes. The person then asked me to sign it. I was like... what- cause my buisness card has a picture on it and it's free you TAKE IT?! Kids go around asking for free stuff, then they'll just throw it away. I hate it. I totally understand where you're coming from. I hate selling origanals for this reason. To get my money back, I'd need to charge on a per hour basis and materials. I spend a good 8 hours plus on a pic, and letsay the materials are worth about $10 for a digetal print- printed and all (some of that is hire of tablet) $10 + 8 hours at $5 and hour is nothing compared to what I make an hour at work, but would people pay $50 for a digetal poster? That is the CHEAPEST way to colour. For you, your materials aren't just time- its canvas, brushes, paint, cleaners...

And you aren't paying for talent if you charge out yourself at $5 and hour.

*huggles Ash* I totally hear you. An artist has to be fast, know cheap materials, and paint the right stuff to make a living. IT's a labour of love. Good on you for making it a proffessional love ^^

Yeah I can totally relate to that. That is why I am trying to sell off new stuff so I can get some more supplies. That and I am trying to buy a house.
