I have noticed that you are very talented, and I was thinking that your style looked somewhat like a shonen style, just that they would need to have slightly thinner faces...a good example would be the characters from Bleach. That's one of the most well drawn shonen that I've seen in awhile.

I also go for trying to make my characters look younger, with more teardrop shaped faces(though when I start out I start with an upside down egg shape for their head) I'm still working out proportions on the body and such, but for the many instruction books I've read and re-read this is the typical style they recommend for beginners like me. For a long time I just drew, it didn't matter to me what style was what or anything like that, now though I found my personal style is best put in the young adult/young teenage shojo style. Though I am also trying to develop a bishojo style of drawing as well, I always seem to find myself going back to that teardrop shape instead of a more angular face...which is why I am also not very good at drawing older men lol

I generally read manga. I only watch anime if I'm bored nowadays. The only anime I'm actively following are the Bleach english dub and DuRaRaRa!! english dub. I do read Kuroshitsuji, but I cannot STAND FMA Brotherhood. I know it's supposed to be more like the manga, but to me they cannot compare to the first FMA and this new one completely fails in quality. To me at least. It also bugs me that I cannot find ANY FMA stuff that isn't Brotherhood anymore....makes me sad, because my old FMA t-shirt is faded and like five sizes to big for me..... lol

Depends on the shonen... DBZ and Pokemon, which I started with had some pretty big faces compared to Bleach.... ... Lol. Bleach may be well drawn but I find it endlessly derivative... I like Hitsugaya (sp?) And Ishida (sometimes) but that's it XD;;

I have trouble with older men as well, but my main problem with them is how to show the jaw and squared cheek bones... Why my males all end up looking feminine or young when drawn, even if I imagine them differently...

I read manga mostly myself... I have A borderline insane collection XD

    lol I have a pretty much insane collection, though it could be and is getting worse. I know the books always show tons of different ways to draw the face to get a certain look, or style. My style starts out with an upside down egg shape that is refined into a more upside down teardrop shape. Some people start right off the bat with the teardrop, however sometimes that can lead to a WAY to long and pointy chin(like more so than mine are)and a lack of forehead. Some people start off with a circle and then change it to an oval, then an egg shape, then sharpen the angles to give a more masculine chin...really it's all different, so it's just a matter of finding what works for you and what you prefer as well. Just like I prefer egg-to-teardrop

      225 volumes of manga and that's without my How to draw collection....

      I block out my entire figure mannequin style. Just recently added a parallelagram to make the chin XD Or, in males that's how I do it. Still haven't figured out female yet

          For me, it's nice that it ends up being civil. DA, it would be a bitching contest

              Well thanks :3

              Though, I tend to win the bitching contests on DA. When it comes time to whip it out and measure~ lol

                lol niiice! I just like to tell people they can suck my left nut, because they're not good enough for the right one.

                I always get the comment "But you're a girl! You don't have any balls!"

                I usually answer with either "exactly!" or "Got more balls than you!"

                lol

            yeah it would be. I tend to win bitching contests only because I'm as stubborn as a jackass, and therefore most people just give up after my reasoning stops making sense. lol

        Wow. I have allot of manga, but not that much yet. I have aproximately 2000$ worth of manga(as an average, because some books were more than 10$ and others were less, so I averaged them out to 10$ each)

        I have different ways of blocking my characters out, depending on their poses.
