I've had mixed luck with cameras and traditional media. If you try a camera, try strong natural sunlight with no flash. Is this as big as you scan it?
His arms and hair are very appealing. They speak clearly of laziness.
I actually like the wooden bed frame too. Maybe not perfect for your character, but a nice design.
