Sorry about the late reply- this has been a busy month for me T.T
I'm not familiar with GIMP, but if your linearts are on a different larger then just colour over them. Or perhaps make use of them being there by putting some ornate white flowers over them. See, they thing is that they go with the hair so I'm inclined to leave it. You could always flood fill with the pink colour on the yellow. I'm sure that there's a way to get rid of it
Perhaps next time do uncertain details on a new layer?
I don't find the kimono too loud though. It's a fun colour and it matches her expression. If it's too busy, I'd say brush over it with the same hot pink, but it's fine how it is to me

GIMP used to have almost unlimited undo's, so it would save you from having to use the eraser, and now instead it doesn't seem to be the case.
I definitely haven't done enough experimenting with the GIMP program, especially after the update that changed so much
