I think I like it... I can see how it *could* be overused, but having a character who seems like - a piece of sky on earth, meet them at night on a hillside and you could hardly make them out until they moved towards you - that is a fun thought. Also having a creature of darkness mixed with the sense of wonder of a night sky...
