Very cool Work, It has a definate mood to it. I like how the roots wrap round the headstone. Almost in a protective manner.

This is a beautiful picture. I do agree with BogusRed--the tree could be a bit darker to make it more of a gloomy kind of scene. But other than that, it's a wonderful drawing. Good job. Smile

Thank you very much! Lol, i dunno why, i feel like making the tree darker! Laughing

Yay!! You finished it!! Woot Woot!!! I love them both, but to me, this one is better. Love it, I just feel so... I don't know when I see it. Welps, Yeah, I love it and I am glad you finished it!

Very nice. I really like it. The only thing that I'd suggest is maybe darkening up the area around the tree. That will make it stand out more like BogusRed said. All in all, I think this is a BIG improvement over the unfinished one. (Well duh!) Great work, hun.

Muchas gracias and also for the suggestion. Nothing like good critics to help improve! Smile

Well you are most welcome. I find that I always improve by other's suggestions. Sometimes we, as artists, cannot see some of the things that other people can. That is what I love about this site. Everyone gives you the best advice possible because they are sincerely interested in trying to help you improve, I guess that's why I love this place so much. ^_^

I agree, without critics we cannot improve!I take all critics, even bad ones! Flame on! Wink

Same here. Though I do admit that I tend to fight back. Not in a mean way. More of a smart a*sy way. Laughing I don't take my flames to heart though. I think that is the hardest thing to face as an artist.
            • Jun 27, 2005, 6:35:20 PM UTC
You're right. When i have bad comments on my works, i tell myself that it cannot pleases anyone, so i don't let it bother me much. Smile
              • Jun 27, 2005, 9:27:34 PM UTC
Good. Though I don't believe that you get too many flames on your work because it is so wonderful. ^_^ Just don't let it get you down. I try not to. You can't always win em all, hun.

lol, i did receive a few on a short story i wrote...hey they cant all be good Wink hihihi, but i'll still try to post them ,if i ever finish them, i hate starting to read a story on the net and it's not finish ,knowing myself i don't post anything until it's done, just in case i dont finish the work...but then again, i might post them anyway, seeing how you guys helped me finish Night tree!!!Hum...Smile
                  • Jun 28, 2005, 8:40:03 AM UTC
Indeed. Post them. Please? I am sure you will find that the members here can be very persuasive when it comes to stories. Mine was originally only 13 chapters. Then people persuaded me to write more, so I did like a good little girl. ^_^

Im a bit shy when it come to my stories but i will...tee hee!
                      • Jun 28, 2005, 9:23:50 AM UTC
Don't be shy. Though I do know that stories are more personal than artwork. At least for me, anyway. You have to use your words and emotions to convey a story. With art, while you still have to use your emotions, it is not quite as personal as stories are. Actually I have no idea what I am saying. I am just rambling now. ^_^
                        • Jun 28, 2005, 9:31:51 AM UTC
no no, i completely understand! I think it might be why i feel shy about posting them, most stories have a background that can be related to my past, what i've been throught and all so, yeah in a way its almost as if it's too personnal, lol... or maybe im just afraid to suck big time! Slant

                          But i might...

But you SHOULD! *laughs* I will read them. I love all kinds of writing as well as art. That stuff is my passion. I always try to give the best advice as I can. When I was a teen I had a couple of my poems published in magazines. Writing has always been my first love. But now I am into art so the writing slowly fades away. I will do more sometime, though.
                            • Jun 28, 2005, 7:47:54 PM UTC

                              • Jun 28, 2005, 9:00:26 PM UTC
Damn I'm good. Wink No my poems aren't up here. I haven't written any poetry in a while. I will see if I can find some though. I am sure I have them stuffed in my closet or something. Can't wait to read. Let me know when you post them. Mwahaha! Evil

I can see a lot of improvement. I think you could even make that tree much darker to bring out the silhouette. The shape of that wicked tree is really cool. Make it standout a little more. Smile
