Ivory the Centauress

The Unoriginal-Title Monster really dug his claws in to this one. It was all I could do to name the girl, and not just have "Centauress". *sigh* Anywho.

This was my first full-out comp-colored painting. It was based entirely off of a scanned-in sketch, and I really don't want to get in to how long it took... not counting the three or four times I forgot to save and managed to lose a crap load of progress. It's ancient, and there are a ton of things I wish I could have done better, but as a first attempt, I'm still insanely proud. Plus, the wispies turned out perfect. ^_______^

Basically, the centauress and her kind worked in slavery for humans. When free centaurs attacked and killed the humans, they overlooked a baby. Ivory, not wanting to see death come to the innocent, took the child and fled in to the forest. The forest was guarded by animals, and their spirits. Normally, they were friends of centaurs. But the smell of the human babe was fresh on Ivory, so the wolves' ghosts attacked. And please... don't ask where that came from. xD
