I was standing in my livingroom when it struck me! I painted this! Well here it is.
This the east wall of my livingroom. From the top to the bottom thick black border lines is 5 feet, this gives you an idea of how large this is. The figures are from the tombs of King Tut and Rhamses the II. The heiroglyphs are 2 passages from the book of the dead.

EvilBunnySlippersTotal Posts: 555Jul 29, 2005 2:47 pmWOW Dennis!!!! That is the most awesome thing EVER!!! It looks so cool, it's just like looking back in time to what the Egyptian murals must have looked like when they were first painted. I have always wanted to paint a mural on my wall but I've never had the guts, ha ha. The colors on this are so vibrant, and I love all those heiroglyphs...it must have taken you forever to paint all those characters so neatly. The "wow" factor on this is though the roof for me...its georgeous...AWESOME job!! --- The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity. -EBS |

Dennis (Reply)Total Posts: 989Jul 29, 2005 6:00 pmThank you Bunny! I did put a lot of work into this but I had suprised myself when I completed the whole thing within 2 weeks! Starnge how some things like an 11 by 14 inch drawing can take almost a month and an entire wall only takes 2 weeks. I am so happy everyone seems to like this so far. Thanks! --- |

Dennis (Reply)Total Posts: 989Jul 29, 2005 4:23 pmThank you Kristy!, actualy the right side of the mural 'is' the opening of the mouth ceremony as depicted in Tut's tomb. The left side is a song to Amun-Ra. The figure of Anubis though has nothing to do with anything. I just thought he looked nice and I put him in as an after thought. --- |

Dennis (Reply)Total Posts: 989Jul 29, 2005 4:55 pmWow! I didn't know you were an ancient Egyptian culture buff. I've always been fascinated by the culture and one day hope to visit Egypt. Just as soon as all of this terror crap is blasted off the face of the earth. It seems we have more than just art in common, I am so happy. --- |

Lady Anime79 (Reply)Total Posts: 2839Jul 29, 2005 5:13 pmMost definitely! ^_^ King Tut is my absolute favorite Pharaoh. There is so much mystery surrounding him. Like the whole thing with his tomb and his sudden untimely death. I can't get enough of Egypt's history. I love it. Once again, Lloyd, great minds think alike. ^_^ --- Laughter is the best medicine and your face is curing the world. |

Dennis (Reply)Total Posts: 989Jul 29, 2005 4:30 pmActualy the house does. The living room is an Egyptian tomb. My bedroom is sort of modern oriental. My boy's room is something from the Death Star and Lord of the Rings. My kitchen well is a mix of a 60's diner and Pueblo Indian. And my garage is a war zone. All of this is connected together with a purple hallway which has a collection of medieval weapons displayed along the walls. I feel tired just describing it. Whew! --- |

Omg..you keep astounding me with your skill..god! lol Not only do you draw highly real people and render them quite well, but you also paint ancient egyptian art, almost exactly like you had been living back then to get the lessons >_< LOL my parents would love having a mural like this in their living room, we actually have quite a collection of egyptian statues, books, and art ourselves, guess you could say we love Egypt too --- "Any goal worth achieving, is never easy" ~Charlone Claudius; Growlanser Generations~ |
