A Drop of Water

Drawn in 08, its a little old now, but I wanted to submit something, my first time doing the realistic painting on Photoshop though, I wanted to give it that kind of feeling.

This is my original character Mizu Haru, Mizu in japanese means Water and Haru means Spring, so if you were to say it like a word in japanese, he would be Spring Water. Mizu is a boy who is always mistaken as a girl and is always confused about who he really is, so he lives almost a double life. Mizu's personality is a strange one, trained all his life as a ninja and martial artist, he often appears cold and apathetic to the world around him but hidden deep inside is a heart and passion that comes out when he is fighting. I was really inspired by some Korean and Chinese paintings and I really love the wedding dresses of the Eastern orientation because of how colorful and flourished they are. Mizu holds something special for me as I think most people can relate to his confusion of who they are really in life. Are they what people expect them to be or is there something more?

No critques as its a finished work and I am not going back to change it, I however know what is wrong in the image in certain areas and already had it critiqued during process.

Mizu and artwork is copyright 2009 Tabitha "Tabikat" Vocque

You could make each kingdom a different high school and show the rivalries that way through school competitions or fights.
