Thanks! I think the attraction for a lot of us is that we saw him as Tarzan on the tv showings of his movies BEFORE we read any of the books. Nostalgia is everything...almost.
Yes, but Hollywood of the 30's and 40's could NEVER portray Tarzan like he really is in the books, when it comes to dealing with his enemies he was absolutely MERCILESS and BRUTAL! They only got bare glimpses of John Greystokes sense of Justice!(like running down hostile natives with an elephant stampede!)
