Broken Clockwork Angel

Note: Posting old art. This and its description is from 2014.

I've never really designed anything like this before, but damn was it fun! It was just a little idea I had in an RP. Something creepy, malfunctioning, soulless, and murderous. The idea was something loosely based around the idea of celestial "warriors" in the form of automatons, and this one was damaged in the field of battle. As its armor plating was being removed in preparation for repairs, it severely malfunctioned and got loose and began wreaking havoc on the human realm.

Mostly I just wanted to draw something all detailed and clockwork and electronic. << I'm going to color this, but I figured I'd post up the lineart first. Inked with a .2 mm micron pen.

That's pretty intimidating. And it adds a bit of an extra threat level that it can skill :wreak havoc" while it's this damaged! I have to wonder though, what it would take to repair it or correct the malfunction? Could you capture it without destroying it completely?

Well, if the creators got hold of it and took it back to the factory to fix it... But it's one of thousands of its kind meant to fight demons and protect humans. Too bad the wiring in its head got all screwed up and that translates into "kill all humans" now.

Thing about humans, we may be weak but we can be clever little strategists when we need to be. Wink I wouldn't be surprised if we figured a way to trap it, if we could spread enough information about its behavior out before we died - from there it would just be a problem of contacting mission control before it broke free again.

I really want to throw this at someone in one of our tabletops... But I never GM, lol. Maybe someday!

Great job with the wires and cogs, it's very detailed and creepy.

Excellent detail work on this. This is really cool. Do you have plans to color it?

Yeah, I did start coloring it, but as this is a few years old, I'm... not actually sure which sketchbook it's in. I sort of forgot about it until now, lol.
