Dragon-Half Mink

Artist's Comments

During the time away while moving. I went through my collection of anime, and watched one of my favorites, Dragon Half..I had done a fan-art of the character Mink before, but in a sketch. So I wanted to see if I couldn't one-up myself with another one of her in color, and TRYING to do better at the female body in a more original pose than I'm used to lol. As it turns out, she did turn out better than I had hoped, especially with her colors. Particular...everything actually lol. I really do love how my coloring turned, and what makes it even more enjoyable for me, is that her female body actually looks like a female body lol. So that makes me happy. The one quip I'm noticing now would be her ahnd..I didn't do that too well now that I examie, but, meh, gotta keep working on it to get better, hope you guys like her like I do [emoticon]

Nice job! Yeah, the hand does look rather small, but I can't draw hands that well, either. So you're not alone. [emoticon]

Anyway, I mentioned this to someone else on the site before, but someone once told me a long time ago that a female's hips are about as wide as her shoulders, and I think that in this picture, they're not quite like that. Also, her shoulders seem a little broad for a female's, but other artists do that, too. It's not wrong, just unladylike, I guess. [emoticon] But other than that, the drawing is very nice. [emoticon]

Hmm, I believe that the hips corresponding to the shoulders info would be quite useful for me in the future, thanks [emoticon] I believe my drawing the shoulders as broad as they are is from my trying to do a slightly "turned to the side" view, unfortunately, it looks more like I've raised and extended them, which is giving her that broadened look. Though, as far as Mink's ladyness goes, she doesn't act SO much as a lady in the show hehe [emoticon] Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind when I draw another female [emoticon] .

Hey, waht's up with the half naked chic?! [emoticon] Just kiddin'. [emoticon] I like her pose and the coloring, and nice job on the armor. The wings look good too. But she's quite a bit out of proportion. Her hand needs to be longer and thicker, and her bum should be lower too. Nice job Chris, hope you'll get better with female anatomy. [emoticon]

RAWR! lol, hey there [emoticon] . Yeah, she's always looking like in the show lol, in the manga version, she wears all different kinds of outfits that look so uhhh "scandelous" maybe? rofl, ah forget it lol. Yeah, that arm, is that main thing I've noticed everyone is noticing, so I'll remember it next time, and I'll get the female anatomy soon enough XD. Be like a machine-gun of perfectly proportionalized/correct anatomically, female pictures when I mastah the skill!! Phear my skills in female drawing that has tet to come lol. XD

I was wondering when you're gonna show up. [emoticon] Haven't talked to you in a while. I can give you one tip: the length of the body should be equivalent to seven times the length of the head in an adult person. In manga it's about six and a half. That's what I do to keep the right proportion. [emoticon] It's the best thing to just draw a real person, something I don't do much lately. [emoticon] I'm into drawing fanarts of various jrockers if you noticed. [emoticon] Wish I could get more comments on those...
