Dandelion Field (prompt 75: plants)

Cometfarers are a hardy species. They had to be, considering their habitat of choice. The universe is vast and unforgiving, and few life forms would find solace along its various asteroid belts and rocketing debris. Cometfarers, however, took whatever scraps they were given and thrived. For this reason, Yorell had always taken an interest in the common weeds of living planets, dandelions especially. They sprung up wherever their bare minimum requirements were met; whether it be a crack in a slab of concrete or a nook in the hull of a spacecraft, Yorell was always pleasantly surprised at the places that the little yellow flowers managed to grow. They felt somewhat of a kinship in how hard they all fought to survive in such a harsh world.
