Brief biography: 

Jean was always interested in mechanics. From a young age she'd watch the blacksmith produce utensils out of metal and loved thinking about how they'd be used. At first the Blacksmith was annoyed by her insistence to watch but after some time he just ignored her. But Jean was really attentive and wrote everything she saw down in a book. 
Otherwise Jean was rather tom-boyish, not being scared to get dirty and playing rather rough. But they also liked helping around their village and were really curious and studious if the topic interested them. If not they tent to doze off, their mind occupied with their own ideas and it was really hard getting Jean to learn or do something she didn't want. Even to this day they carry on this stubborn streak. 
Jean is a very confident person wich can sometimes morph into being reckless. This has reached its peak at one point in her teens. With 14 they once flew in a very windy area wich they thought they could handle. But a big gust of wind crashed Jean against stones and their wings got badly injured. She had to be convinced to recover a lot and stay down wich she hated. Not everything could fully heal tho. However hard they tried, their wings didn't respond to her efforts and movements. She has lost control over her wings and couldn't fly. 

For jean it felt for a bit like her life ended. She loved flying and to never do it anymore? Unimaginable. This made her angry and sad for quite some time, more often lashing out and isolating herself. But one day she saw the blacksmith giving someone a prosthetic for their leg and this lit up a spark in her. They went to the blacksmith and asked him if he couldn't make something for her wings. The blacksmith said that wouldn't be possible. Her wings aren't gone, they can't be replaced by mechanics. And besides, something being able to carry a whole person would have to be bigger than practical. 

So if he won't help Jean just had to find a solution herself. She went to the library in the neighbouring city and spend hours reading books and experimenting with some screws and metal parts the blacksmith didn't need. 

After a year she had a good idea of an solution. Jean wanted to make a construction that carried a bit of her wings weight and did the necessary movement for her. They made many sketches and prototype concepts and ended up showing it to the blacksmith. He at first didn't want to waste his time with this but seeing Jeans ideas and dedication he thought it may work. 

So now they worked together. Over many months they planned, build things, tried out and did their best bringing their vision to life. It was connected with many bruises from failed attempts but at the end one of their many versions worked! Jean could fly again! It took Jean a lot of time getting used to moving their wings and flying again but they picked it up again and now after two years are pretty good at it again. 

This action bonded Jean and the blacksmith and since she was 18 the blacksmith took her as his apprentice . Now she has completed the training and works with the blacksmith. She likes building stuff herself and helps repairing machinery if it's broken. 

But one day she was venturing outside of the village a bit and saw a weird thing in the air and through it she could see a whole nother world. She stepped through it and just wanted to look around as she got called. But the weird plants and creatures she saw in that moment were enough and she got something new she really wants to find out more to... Portals

Description: Jean is around 1,65m tall and has rather pale skin. Their hair is very short on the sides but curly, and poofy on the top. The color is a very pale blonde that often seems white in certain lighting. They have eyelashes of the same color that are pretty long, contrasted by their darker brown eyes. Jean has rather broad shoulders and muscular arms. Their hands feel a little rough and have tiny scars on them that are barely visible, caused by their work and not being as careful with themselves.  Otherwise they're rather lean but agile and don't have a super defined waste. Their chest is also pretty flat.
