To Catch a Mate: Chapter 1

 

When she had first noticed her brother Dar going into his hibernating state, Erra had been so excited she'd nearly fainted. It had taken her nearly a day to calm herself enough to begin braiding and coiling her hair, primping herself to get the look she had wanted when she finally went and captured her Alpha.  Usually it was the Alpha that went for the 'lesser sex' but not when it came to Erra's crush. The Alpha was such a recluse, had been since she was little.

Never mind the many days Erra and Dar had watched her from afar, sighing and pining over the gorgeous Alpha Morigan.

Now Erra was going to get what she wanted! She moved through the caverns quietly and refused to look at the appraising faces of others that showed interest. Oh no, she wanted Morigan and her brother, none of these others.

 

Morigan was busy smoothing down another wall in her complex, the harem wall to be precise, her tools strewn across the floor on leather matting as she carefully rounded the arch that lead into a small private sleeping area and then reached for her stencil to ink in the design she wanted over it. The small gamma stood watching her a little while, peeking into the cave with a strange fluttering feeling in her belly. She was nervous; what if Morigan and Kleitos turned her down? Erra would be heart broken and Dar just as upset when he woke up again.

Nervously, she padded into the cavern and slunk over to Morigan. Silently she looked at the others work and was awed by it. Rarely did an Alpha do such careful, beautiful work as Morigan and Kleitos were doing.

Soft hands came to rest on the others shoulders and Erra leaned her soft, slim form into the Alpha.

"Hello Morigan, Kleitos..." She purred.

 

Morigan paused, hands trembling slightly before she huffed and continued to delicately trace in the stencil work. "Hello Erra..." she murmured, trying not to flush bright red, Kleitos paused his smoothing, wiggling a tentacle in greeting to the small gamma. ~Hello Erra!~ he echoed cheerfully while Morigan did bush and focused all the harder on her stenciling ~Its nice to see you again, where is Dar? Is he sleeping?~

 

"Dar is hibernating." Erra cooed softly in response and leaned closer against Morigan, her brows knotting worriedly when the larger Alpha made no sign of interest. Oh no... Was she going to be rejected?

"Can you guess who?" She asked them playfully.

 

......ooOOOOOOHHH!!!~ Kelitos' tentacles went wild, flailing everywhere while Morigan dropped her stencil an ink brush with a "splat" on the floor, her face going burgundy as she stuttered and finally turned to face Erra, nervously wiping her hand on her work apron. "A-a-a-are you sure?" she squeaked while Kleitos' happy chanting filled the background. ~They picked us! They picked us! They picked us!~ till she shut him up by bringing a fist down on his head trunk.

 

Erra flushed and giggled at the excitement of Morigan's brother. Even more at Morigan's expression as she nodded and swayed on her heels to make her very nearly transparent shift ripple enticingly over her slim body.

Erra was all too happy to press close, purring for the both of them as she nuzzled a little at Morigan's chin. "I would not doubt a word of it." She cooed adoringly, gazing up with wide green-grey eyes.

 

Morigan stuttered and anxiously patted her back, hands trying not to smear any of the stone dust covering her onto the girl though that was a lost cause. "Le...lemme clean up and I'll join you in my room then" she promised shakily.

 

Erra giggled and nodded, bouncing on the balls of her feet in excitement. "Come soon." She crooned, "Would not wish to keep me waiting, eh?" Erra already felt flushed and anxious with Morigan and Kleitos so close. It was agony to wait.

 

Morigan squeaked and nodded, padding away as quickly as she could to the large hot spring she'd tapped into. This part of the caverns and her rooms were the only parts truly finished off how she wanted, showing the obsessively complicated and delicate carving and mural work that Morigan and Kleitos loved.

 

It was easy to find their room and she slipped inside to look about while she waited. While not as romantic or dramatic as the stories were, she was still so excited for her first mating. This would make a baby. A beautiful little baby. Erra cooed pleasantly, touching her tummy happily.

 

Morigan scrubbed herself shakily, berating Kleitos and questioning herself the entire time till her brother grew sick of it and hit her with a thick blast of hormones that made her go limp against the side of the bath for a few moments. Erra was nosily inspecting some of Morigan's things - the more embarrassing of course- and giggling softly over them. The Alpha was so cute, her and her brother both! Erra adored them, as did Dar, who had been so insistent that they go after the two as soon as they could.
