“Yes, I'm sure” Bella said. “Sharp teeth, sparkly skin, called me `human'… vampire.”

“Vampires get red eyes from feeding on human blood, or amber eyes from animal blood, but I'm never heard of green eyes. They weren't contacts?”

“I was six inches from his face. They were not contacts!”

“I'll text Dad and ask.”

When the reply came, Edward read it and said. “Um, I don't think Dad knows, either.”

Bella took the phone and read the message. There was only one word.
