Thank you so much for sharing this Dennis; there was a point in my life when I felt much like this. Life just didn't seem very important anymore. I can see this person asking why, and not really caring what the answer was.
If I had an ultimate favorites section where only one artwork would fit, this is where I'd put this. Having been in this emotion before, I think you've perfectly captured the despair, but also that inner fire that still wants to push on. Again, thank you so much for sharing this.

  First I want to thank you for the beautiful comment. I think we all go through experiences like this but I think I took it harder than most because of my emotional immaturity I took it harder than should of.

your self-portrait is so poignant Dennis, we all pass by difficult moments and I am glad that you are alright now! As your friends said, never give up, besides somebody said me one day, that in life, which counts, it is not to avoid the difficult moments, but to know how to face them.

  How very true. Oh believe me I faced this one full on unfortunately I should of grabbed some armor. This was a trying time and in a way i'm glad I was able able to experience it and grow but if given the choice I would of rather not.

  one builds oneself in the difficult moments and one comes out from it grown afterwards. It is sure that it does not have anything pleasant to pass by these moments there, but I realize that sometimes, it is almost impossible to control what falls you above into life.

  Thank you ever so much for your words of wisdom. I wish I had them at the time but alas I was alone which kinda amplified the hurt I was feeling. I survived though as you said and I think a stronger person has come out of it.

This is a very compelling portrait Lloyd. Even if you don't know the background from it, you can still feel your pain through your expression. I feel so sad for you from this picture, but it is really well drawn. I love how you breathe life into your drawings with every pencil stroke. You are an amazing artist as I have said before.

This is very nice. It shows so much emotion and this was probably done in a sad moment in your life. It radiates grief most. But, it is still very nice because it radiates something, and whenever an artist can make their art radiate, it is truly good as well as the artist.

  Thank you for commenting, indeed it was. At the time life just didn't seem like living anymore and though this 25 year old portrayed in this drawing didn't survive I did.
