I like this one too. Although you really need to make the line between the floor of the ship and the wall of ship clearer. As it is now it looks odd because the floor & wall read as one big flat surface.

  You're welcoem! I'm not all that great with backgrounds either. I'm all for the simpler the better! *winks* This one really isn't all that bad. If you just make it more clear where the floor ends & the side of the ship starts you'll be fine!

I love the colours that you have used here. If i was to critique you it would have to be about the smudgyness off the woodwork. But other than that your picture is great! who doesnt love a pirate
