Yori Sketches

my little sacrifice boy again, haven't been in a colouring mood but I have been sketching ^^
Kimono's are quite fun but I think I need to look at more references in order to do better poses with them(watching Mononoke is helping with my kimono fetish XP). I'm also getting to know Yori(as I decided to call him) a bit better. The other suggested names were great but since he's from a secluded little Japanese village and his whole ritual is inspired by Shintoism he needed a Japanese name.
He's 16 years old on the year the ritual is to take place. For ten years he's been in isolation, whenever someone came in to tend to him he'd have to wear his blindfold so he couldn't see their face. He'd receive gifts from people in the village like his blindfold, a brush, fans and a decorative comb (I still need to draw a picture of him with that) things like that, all of good craftsman ship the village is known for.
The ritual has been going for 180 years. It all started when a priestess took pity on the village which had faced many hardships and had been raided by dark forces many a time. She worked to erect a large barrier around the village which keeps evil forces at bay, but the barrier needs to be sustained by holey power, and so every ten years the ritual takes place and a new child, the one with the most holey power, is chosen to go into isolation in preparation for the next ritual.

I saw this on another art site, I think. He's very pretty and I like the way you drew his kimono and eyes.

Though, it's a little plain so far as kimonos usually go. Still, it's more decorative than more of my kimonos get.
