+ Chapter III Truth Of Resolution ~ Oyuu of Odani's Theme - Taro IwashiroComment:
Hazuo in one of his many costumes. |D I hadn't drawn him in a while and felt inspired to do so~
This particular costume is for the "Truth of Balance" act in the circus he's in. The show this act is in is based off of Journey to the West, which happens to be one of the writer's favorite tales. In "Truth of Balance", Hazuo is accompanied by two other contortionist, each of which represents an element. Hazuo is mist and shadow (water/dark) in the act, serving as the shadows cast by the mountains and trees that are enshrouded by the mist (which explains the blue on his costume). Being of Mist and Shadow he is often moved or protected by Wind and Light (Xia Tian, another contortionist), but Fire and Earth (Este, also another contortionist) make him fizzle out or hide. But as each element cycles through the mountains, he returns, holding a large bronze weight while poised in various poses. The entire act is about the balance of nature and how each element coexists with the other, in essence, one can create the other and in turn this brings harmony.
The song I used during the entire piece (which is listed above) is absolutely perfect for the act. I can visualize it so clearly with the music ajfsklf if only I could animate. ; __ ; I highly recommend taking a listen to it while looking at this, or just taking a listen. Its an awesome song and so beautiful.Artwork, Hazuo © 2009 P. Lolla (*souls-poison)
