In a Chinese myth, there live a jade rabbit on top of the moon that would not stop making useful medicines. Certain versions of the story claims that it lives with Chang Er and Wu Gang on the moon ( though I think the original one is only the jade rabbit by itself. Chang Er and Wu Gang belong to two other stories of their own.).

I love the characters in the background on the image. It adds just a nice little something to tie it all together. The only problem I'm seeing is the shading for shadows where the beads rest on the fur, but otherwise this is a really well done piece. I love the texture. It makes me want to reach out and touch it.

    Wow!

This looks great, your attention to detail is awesome, I love all the patterns and they flow well together. The rabbit looks real too, his fur is nicely done.

Do you know if the myth is on google books or posted anywhere? I'd love to read it Smile

      Thanks Smile

I don't exactly know the real version, because this myth (or folklore) had always been passed on from teachers to student or parent to child. It's one of those old stories that get pass around from one to the other.
