Modern Hanyou 2

I drew Inu Yasha with mechanical pencil first then went over it with an ultra fine point permanent marker, then I erased all the pencil and colored it with colored pencil.  I love how he came out- him and the other three I drew.  I'm so happy! la!

thank you! I really like this one a lot too - he's the first one I did. I think my favorite one is the third one though where he's crouched down.

      Thanks for the FB! Grin

        You're welcome! Smile
I love his expression, the attitude of each character, it's awesome! Worship The reason I love this is that there seems to be certain innocense to him, to me anyway. But they're all great.

There is a GREAT sense of MOVEMENT in this. That's something a lot of people have extreme difficulty in capturing so give yourself a good slap on the back for being able to convey movement and not have it look static and akward!

I won't comment on the anatomy since I can tell it's a personal style with the exaggeration/anorexic look.

The only thing that really jumps out at me that's a litte off is his left (Our right) bicep.

Bicep a little big and no tricep to balance.

Great feet. Nice job on the feet, love his right big toe curling. Nice touch.

Thank you Susan, that means a lot coming from you, I admire all your work!
But-hey I need to talk to you. I really am having a problem with the new critique options. I really don't like any of them. Cry
I don't not want a review and I don't need to be heavily critiqued. But I don't need things to be broken to me gently or candy coated. And I'm not liking the fact that all my pics are set to candy coated reviews.
ARKillian got all mad at me for not caring about his/her? critique and I basically didn't care because I Didn't want to pick this option but it was the only one that was closest to what I wanted AND the pic is done I can't fix it.
I don't care if people want to cheerlead or roast or flame it's their perogative and I don't want to tell them what to do and I don't need to be told things gently and I can ignore their advice if I want and they have no right to get pissed at me for it. Mad
All I'm asking is that you add an option for ppl like me who don't need anything specific. All comments are welcome and I'm only displaying my artwork, not looking for anything specific .

I'm not saying the options aren';t a good idea. but for me these just aren't working out.

Another beautiful piece of art from you Kichi. Well, you know there are a few things that need some attention, but you can just use that knowledge for future reference. All in all, this is a really awesome pose you drew him in and I am glad you drew him in more modern wear. He looks very sexy. It would be cool to see some tattoos on him sometime. Laughing And them damn beads won't have any effect on him anymore now that they are no longer around his neck. Nice work. It is very original and well thought through. (Just like your others. ) Much love. ^_^

Thank you! oh and funny you should mention the tatto o because one of the pics I drew that I haven't posted yet I gave him one, hehe
  • Nov 19, 2005, 4:33:01 AM UTC
Woot- you have a really interesting pose there! Unsure how he took the necklace off (SIT BOY! XD ) but he does look coolies ^^ You did a brilliant job on the foreshortening on his right arm, but the upper left arm is missing half of the inside muscle on the arm, his abdominal area should take up about as much width as his shorts are giving him in this pic (I KNOW what its like drawing stretched torsos- I always draw them too long or narrow too!!) and his knees need a bit more meat on them.

Do this all help you? Smile

thanks for the FB but (and this is why I just suggested a critique prefence that says something like "no candy coated or comfort reviews- but it's too late to roast me the pic is done) well ok, that's not exactly what I said, but I feel kinda silly having ppl try to help me with art work that I have no intention of fixing. But then again I'm no wuss and if someone wants to tell me they don't like soimething I odn't want some thing poppiong up saying "this artist only wants you to say NICE things"

That's not what I want, but for finished works- critiquing helps but not for the posted drawing- get me?

Anyway, I do want to thank you for your two critiques, some of the things you noticed were things that bothered me but I said fuck it. (And some things bothered me and no one noticed yet- tee hee!!) so muchas gracias (Oh and I DO have a huge problem drawing giant heads. damnit- lol)

No, hang on- what you said makes no sence- I have no intention of you changing this picture, in fact, most people don't. Advanced critique is for FUTURE pictures- not nessecarily the current one. Also, you say you can handle the critique, but you're also say "Fuck it" to peoples suggestions? Why are you asking for the roasting critique? We can't spot areas of improvement without pictures to go off- Could you please expand on EXACTLY what your version of Roasting is?
        • Nov 19, 2005, 11:22:33 PM UTC
I put it in this one because I don't want the other options either. And I didn't say fuck it to your suggestion, I said thank you.
and as for my version of roasting, I didn't want the other options. I don't really want this one either. I asked Bogus Red to conside a option for "I don't care if you want to crit or flame or cheerlead, I'm happy with any response," Basically I liked it the way it was and I was kinda pissed to find that all my pics were set for candy coated criticism, because I don't need things to be "broken to me gently" and it would take too much time and effort to change everything- especially when I really don't like any of the options- and i HAVE to pick one.
So yes I am saying I can handle the critique, but I really don't want it either and neither do I want the other options- but this was closest to what I wanted- I don't need things candy coated i'm not fragile, but I really don't need to be roasted either, if it matters to me that much then i'd post on the crit wall, there's simply nothing that says: "Say what you want if it's good i'll say thanks if it's bad i'm not changing it cause I: (fill in whatever: lazy, permanent ink/paint/whatever, don't care that much, etc.)"
which is why I am now going to send a message to her directly instead of to the suggestion box like I had this morning and tell her that I really would prefer the don't care option.
          I hope that helps.
and no need to get offended, either, it's really not that important.

            Well, you did say that-

"Anyway, I do want to thank you for your two critiques, some of the things you noticed were things that bothered me but I said fuck it. (And some things bothered me and no one noticed yet- tee hee!!) so muchas gracias (Oh and I DO have a huge problem drawing giant heads. damnit- lol)"

This to me says you don't want critique, but you were asking for it?

Anyways- a better suggestion to BR may be something like Deviantart has with also having "No critque" selected, as in don't point out good or bad. Just look and enjoy type thing. I THINK that's what you want, although I don't have a clue why you are using such a harsh tone with your words... I mean, I put alot of thought into my comment, just as I do everything else I post here. I mean, unless what I suggested above applies, I don't know why you posted it if you don't want any comments or you're gonna ignore them or what. I was just trying to help out. At your request, I wont comment on another picture if this is how all of them are going to be. I think its very sad that your opinion of your art is so down that you don't wish to hear about ways to improve it. I'm sorry, but it makes no sence to me. I'm sorry to have insulted you with my time Sad

The thing at deviant art is exactly what I want that's what I've been trying to say.
And like I said the first time, there's no reason to take offense, I don't see how you could interpret anything I said as being 'harsh' or pissed or whatever.

if you don't want to comment on my art, don't. I said thank you and I meant it. I was glad that you took the time, but it wasn't necessary- but I didn't want to pick the other options either as they are worse in my opinion, but don't worry,
since this is going to be an issue I'll take care of it like I've been trying to since yesterday.

              And this comment:
"I think its very sad that your opinion of your art is so down that you don't wish to hear about ways to improve it. I'm sorry, but it makes no sence to me. I'm sorry to have insulted you with my time"

              - I really just don't get it or how you even came up with this idea. I told you- no need for offense, it's really not that important. especially not to get worked up over.
Now I'm taking my pics off the crit wall. this will end any confusion until bogus red makes a new category. If she doesn't I'll take my stuff elsewhere as much as that will piss me off.
but this is silly, there's no reason to argue about this and I'm sorry if your upset. It wasn't my intent.
