Agates parents met because they were adventurers, and they fell in love and settled down after the quest was over. She had a reasonably peaceful childhood (she was bullied at first but quickly hit her growth spurt/maturity faster than the other, human, children and beat up anyone that bothered to point out that she was different. She always wanted a true adventure, and really only paid attention to her mothers stories of glorious battles and how many times she saved her father from certain death. Her father always tried to share his love of magic and arcane tomes, but she couldn’t be bothered. When the war began, her parents knew that this was her chance to prove herself, and so did she. She set out to make her own adventure. Until she met the party, she escorted caravans between villages. She ate with all kinds of people, and spent a lot of time bonding with soldiers and the like in taverns(thus how comfortable she is with those people and in that setting.) she has also in that job seen some shit, as not every escort was successful, and men have died in front of her, and she has killed. She somewhat has the moral system of a Skyrim character/rpg protagonist. Will I get in trouble if I loot all the chests? No? Cool, I’ll rob them blind. But also save the village and reunite the kingdoms. She is 25 maturity wise but has lived 18 years( Orcs mature faster than humans) So long as in the end she has gone on a grand adventure, she is satisfied. She doesn’t believe she’ll settle, but she’ll also never admit that she’s only half as wild as her mother and there’s definitely a quiet life waiting at the end of her quest.
