Edwin Somnus

Edwin grew up in the human dominated kingdom of Anastem raised by his Father Edmond and Mother (late) Aria. Edwin is the youngest of 2, with his older brother Aldrin being 5 years older. Aria died when Edwin was born, and Edmond resents Edwin for it. Edwin spends most of his childhood helping out his unlce Rhoald the blacksmith and learns about swordmaking and delivers weapons on his uncle's behalf. Edwin was obsessed with knights and chivalry as a child and always dreamed of being a great swordsman like his father and the other knight heros from days past. 

Edmond is a former Crusader Knight from the King's Army, and pressures his sons to follow in his footsteps to become strong knights. Aldrin however, leaves the Academy to study Sorcery as he is very charismatic, leaving more pressure on Edwin to succeed as his father's last hope. As Aldrin studied magic, he once used it on Edwin, who remembered the word and started to use it daily in secret despite knowing he was trying to train as a knight, which meant no magic. Edwin has low stamina and strength and was unable to grow much during his time at the Academy and failed out on his final test due to not being able to defeat his friend Caelum in a final match. 

Now, Edwin has resigned to become an Adventurer and scours the land for artifacts to sell and warm beds to sleep in to keep his low stamina in check. On one adventure he takes hold of a seemingly ordinary sword but finds himself cursed with even less stamina and a voracious need to nap more frequently-- enough to make him fall asleep during any regular task at hand!
