Reina - Reference

This was the first ever OC I made many MANY years ago. She's gone through a lot of changes and a ton of updates, but I wanted to bring her into PaperDemon. She is still incredibly precious to me.

Age: Young Adult (Probably about 24-25)

Pronouns: She / Her

Personality: Generally bubbly and extremely friendly, she likes to see the best in everyone she meets. Often time to her own detriment. She could also be described as gullible, despite her experience. She is easily determined and excitable. Eager to please, but with deep insecurity. She considers herself lesser, not even truly a person, but more of a thing. A beast. She also tends to be a workaholic.

Likes: Similar to Ulreth, she adores reading, but she ESPECIALLY loves having Ulreth read to her. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle in his lap while he reads. Similarly, she adores nighttime walks, star gazing, and enjoying the night. Her species are naturally nocturnal and prefer to be awake in the night. Keeping herself busy.

Dislikes: She has a light and sound sensitivity, which leads her to feel overwhelmed from time to time, and generally dislikes hot, bright summer days especially. She doesn't handle being alone well either, especially if locked in a cramped space, it triggers a panic attack every time. Doesn't like fire.

Background: 

Reina was taken from her family as an infant, small, and barely even had her eyes open. She was traded hands frequently over time and raised to be a housekeeper of sorts. To do all the little and big tasks someone who has her might not want to do. Cleaning became a coping mechanism over time and she often kept her gaze to the ground back then. Then, one day, a terrifying Demon approached her and, within seconds, killed those running the auction she was a part of. She, and a few others, were freed and given a lump sum of money, allowed to start their lives however they please. Most were left, scattered to form a life of their own. But Reina asked to follow Ulreth. While he ushered her to try living on her own, he also allowed her to tag along. She made use of her time, cleaning up around him and trying to make herself useful, but the interesting thing was he started anticipating her and acting ahead of time. Forcing her to relax, and even being spoiled by him.

Reina continued to be more open, honest, and expressive of her wishes. Convincing Ulreth to go out into town with her, teaching her to read more complex languages, and even teaching her about culture and her own people. The more time they spend together, the more Ulreth finds his frustrations of having nothing to do disappear. He also finds himself drawn to the smaller woman increasingly more, eventually confronted with what those emotions are when she confesses to loving him herself. He doesn't react great initially, rejecting the idea anyone could like him like that, least of all her, but relents that it's more that he feels less than adequate for her as he is not inherently a good person like she is.

Despite the confusing start, they do settle into a more content dynamic. At some point, Reina suggests making her a demon so she would be ageless as well, which not only throws Ulreth off but also makes him freak out initially. Not comfortable or okay with the idea in the slightest, he doesn't understand why she'd think such a thing. Although does realize she means the right thing, he fears it may lead to a change in her person as a whole, arguing a bit with her on the subject. ((I am undecided if he refuses in the end, or relents eventually.))
