Sungsong is roughly five foot tall, with a body covered in fluffy white feathers. His eyes are not usually visable due to the amount of fluff covering his face. His arms and legs are also feathered, both ending in grey bird-like talons. His hands have thumbs and can manipulate items as well as any other humanoid. His feet have three forward facing toes, and two conjoined sideways facing toes. He has a rooster's tail made of long, arching feathers. The largest middle feather is bright red, and the others are white. Sunsong usually wears a red robe with golden trim and a golden metal headband with the rune of a bright red bird's foot in the middle, though any suitably reagal looking outfit will do.

Sunsong was born to a line of powerful mages. He spent most of his life training under his older relatives, studying and drilling to improve his magic...and, being spoiled rotten by all the other noble familes trying to gain the young man's favor. He has great potential, but he's become egotistical and started to believe he has no need to practice his skills. He's already the best, of course. Tired of his attitude and lack of respect, his family have decided to send him on a mission to explore the portals. Sunsong takes this as an opportunity to prove just how amazing and powerful he is. He's going to get a real reality check as soon as he sees just how many other mages are out there.

He is holding his talisman, an heirloom wand that has allowed other members of his family to explore the portals for generations.
