Explanation: Something happened to solstice after they went back from the adventure to the city of song. They didn't get decommissioned or something but they simply found themselves in the unknown but they weren't alone. Solstice found that they were attached to someone she doesn't understand who they are but she can't be that far from them even if she could go away from them. In the unknown Solstice is only a spectator she can't interact with anyone or anything but the beast does know that she exists which freaks out her past self who is in control and is physical in the unknown. Basically Solstice is a spectator in the unknown while her past self/the soul is the one going around the unknown as well as their aware alone.
